Cake Maternity Bralette & Dress Review

Baby girl is now 14 months & our breastfeeding journey is still going strong. I’m also still pumping once a day at work. I don’t think I would have made it this far in my journey without the help and ease of wearing the proper breastfeeding friendly clothing. Wearing clothes and garments that support breastfeeding makes a difference! Being able to nurse with ease is a MUST! If I have to stress with toggling with my shirt or my bra in order to feed my baby (especially when they’re crying), it would really make me feel defeated. However, when I choose to wear clothing that is easy to unhook or open to feed, then that boosts my confidence in breastfeeding (especially in public).

I was gifted Cake Maternity‘s best selling Chantilly Nursing Bralette to test out and wear. When I was looking through their site to decide which size I should order, I was impressed by the size chart and how there are sizes to fit all shapes bodies. I really like how Cake Maternity doesn’t just offer Small to Large, but also considers cups size too! First impressions when I received it: 1) The bra is lightweight and the materials are so soft. 2) The blush color is so pretty and dainty. 3) You can’t even tell it’s a nursing bra!

When I tried it on, I immediately fell in love with how well it lifted my breasts and how comfortable the bra is with its sheer microfibre stretch mesh lining. There is no underwire digging into my ribs and the French inspired stretch lace doesn’t dig into my armpits. I also like the plunge lace neckline, so I can pair it with many different outfits. The nursing clip is so easy to hook on and off, so it makes nursing my little babe a breeze. I also really love that the design of the bra is meant to grow with a mom during any stage of her journey. Whether she’s pregnant or has weaned, the Chantilly Nursing Bralette offers rooms to grow, but still feels very supportive.

I also ordered the Malt Nursing Wrap Dress which is designed for pregnancy, breastfeeding, and beyond. I am a big on outfit repeating and I really love finding pieces that I can wear past my breastfeeding journey, this promotes sustainability in fashion and minimalism. When I received it, I really l was impressed by the ultra soft material. It’s made with 100% rayon and it’s so buttery soft. I tried it on immediately and I love that I can dress it up with heels and a blazer for work or I can also dress it down with sandals for a day out with the kiddos. The dress’ low cross over neckline made it easy to breastfeed in, and if I’m in the office, I can also easily pump in the dress too (with a pumping bra of course!)

I truly feel that the small things like a good nursing bra and a breastfeeding friendly dress can make a whole difference in a breastfeeding mom’s confidence and success. Thanks to Cake Maternity, their bras and dresses empower women to sustainably support them through their motherhood journey. Next time you’re invited to a baby shower, take a peep at the mom’s registry. Most of the time you’ll see that the mom did not add anything for herself. I am all for taking care of the new mom and checking in on her more than checking in on her baby (cause moms really need that support!), so I would suggest surprising her with something to uplift her! Like a nice and supportive nursing bra and a dress that she can feel good in.
